Known issues on the 2023 Sprinter 3500XD. The 2023 Sprinter 3500 models carry six recalls, filed against that wider line. On certain vans the main wiring harness can rub against the drive shaft and short out, risking fire and a loss of propulsion, power steering and brake control; dealers reroute it. Rear axle spring U-bolts with faulty heat treatment went into certain 2023 Sprinter 3500 models, letting the axle shift, while certain other 2023 Sprinter 3500 models were recalled because a front left suspension strut bolt may have been left loose, threatening steering control.
