Known issues on the 2021 Sprinter 3500XD. NHTSA lists 16 recalls against the 2021 Sprinter 3500 models. In certain of those vans a topcoat paint formula left windows and interior lashing rails poorly bonded, so glass could come away in a crash and secured cargo could tear loose. Instrument lighting on certain 2021 Sprinter 3500 models cannot be dimmed and may glare too brightly to read, while certain examples fitted with the 7-speed automatic plus a manual parking brake can lose parking pawl engagement through a fatigued guide bushing.
