2023 Land Rover Discovery Sport Service and Repair Manual
Land Rover offered the 2023 Discovery Sport with two very different powertrains, and this factory service and repair manual is matched to the exact year, engine and trim you are working on — the mild-hybrid 3.0L L6 (VIN U) or the 2.0L L4 (VIN X, AJ20P) — so every clearance, setting and tightening sequence in it is what Land Rover specified for that build, not an approximation pulled from an adjacent year.

Known issues on the 2023 Discovery Sport. Five recalls are on federal record for this model year. One covers the driver and front passenger seat belt pretensioners, which may be damaged and can then fail to restrain occupants properly, increasing the risk of injury in a crash. A second concerns the engine cam carrier oil channel, which may be blocked and lead to an oil leak that can raise the risk of a fire in the presence of an ignition source. A third involves the DC-DC converter on the mild-hybrid vehicles, which can fail from an internal fault in the boost control microchip and result in a loss of 12-volt system charging, and a loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash. A fourth covers the driver's air bag clockspring connector, which may corrode and cause the air bag not to deploy as intended, increasing the risk of injury in a crash. The fifth addresses the rearview camera, where insufficient drain holes may leave water unable to drain away and damage the camera, and a rearview camera image that does not display can decrease the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of a crash. Owners have filed 7 complaints for the year. The factory diagnostic and repair procedures behind each of those systems are here.
Whether the job is a pretensioner replacement, tracing an oil leak at the cam carrier, or chasing a 12-volt charging fault on the mild-hybrid, it holds you to the procedure and the specification Land Rover wrote for this 2023 Discovery Sport.
