Known issues on the 2017 Discovery Sport. Three recalls are on federal record for this model year. The first covers exterior lighting: when towing with the trailer lights connected while the Daytime Running Lights are on, the trailer lights may not function, leaving following traffic unaware the vehicle is slowing or stopping. The second covers the fuel system: the fuel gauge may indicate the tank is low when more fuel actually remains, and the engine management software may also cut off the engine once the vehicle has traveled roughly 17 more miles, which can cause a loss of power brake assistance and a loss of drive power. The third covers the instrument cluster: the keyless rear door latch can fail to fully secure the rear passenger doors, letting them open while driving, without the cluster's open-door warning light alerting the driver.
