2022 Land Rover Discovery Sport Service and Repair Manual
The 2022 Land Rover Discovery Sport left the factory in two very different states of tune — the turbocharged 2.0L AJ20P four (VIN X) and the mild-hybrid 3.0L inline-six (VIN U) — and across six trims, so the figures that apply to one car on this line do not apply to the next. What follows is written to the 2022 Discovery Sport as it was actually built, not approximated from a neighboring model year.

- 3.0L L6 (VIN U) Turbo/Supercharged Mild Hybrid EV-Gas (MHEV)
- 2.0L L4 (VIN X, AJ20P) Turbocharged Gas

Known issues on the 2022 Discovery Sport. Five recalls are on federal record for this model year. The first (22V523000) covers the seat belt pretensioners: the driver and front passenger seat belt pretensioners may be damaged, which can cause the seat belts to not properly restrain occupants, and improperly restrained occupants have an increased risk of injury during a crash. The second (23V044000) covers engine lubrication — the engine cam carrier oil channel may be blocked, which can lead to an oil leak, and an oil leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire. The third (26V248000) covers the DC-DC converter on mild-hybrid vehicles, which can fail due to an internal fault in the boost control microchip; a failure of the DC-DC converter will result in a loss of 12-Volt system charging, and a loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash. The fourth (26V389000) covers the frontal air bags: the driver's air bag clockspring connector may corrode, which can cause the air bag not to deploy as intended, and an air bag that does not deploy as intended increases the risk of injury in a crash. The fifth (26V458000) covers the rearview camera, where water may not be able to drain away due to insufficient drain holes and may damage the camera; a rearview camera image that does not display can decrease the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of a crash. Owners have filed 9 complaints for the year.
Whether you are tracing a cam carrier oil leak, checking 12-Volt charging on the MHEV six, or working through a scheduled service on the AJ20P four, it keeps you on Land Rover's own procedure and the correct figure for this 2022 Discovery Sport.
