Known issues on the 2023 S8. Two recalls are on federal record for this model year. The first covers the front passenger air bag: the occupant protection flap may not have been folded correctly during assembly, and in a crash an incorrectly folded bag can deploy with too much force, raising injury risk for an unbelted occupant seated close to the instrument panel. The second covers the rearview camera, where a software error can prevent the image from displaying, reducing the driver's view behind the vehicle and increasing crash risk.
