Known issues on the 2022 S8. Three recalls are on federal record for this model year. The first covers the infotainment main unit, which can become internally damaged when the vehicle shuts off, leaving the rearview camera display inoperative the next time it starts and reducing the driver's rear visibility. The second covers the front-passenger air bag, where an incorrectly folded occupant protection flap can deploy with too much force in a crash, increasing injury risk to a small or unbelted occupant seated close to the instrument panel. The third covers the rearview camera system, where a software error can prevent the camera image from displaying, again reducing the driver's view behind the vehicle.
