Known issues on the 2022 Ascent. For the 2022 Ascent, NHTSA has opened 2 recall campaigns. One applies to certain 2022 Ascent vehicles whose PTC heater ground bolt may not be fastened correctly; a melting ground terminal can start a fire, so owners were told to park outside, clear of structures, until dealers fitted new bolts. The other applies to certain 2022 Ascent vehicles labeled with an incorrect gross axle weight rating, a mistake that could invite overloading; a new label is to be sent to owners. Owners have lodged 55 complaints: power train 14, service brakes 10, engine 9. Six complaints reported a crash, 2 a fire and 4 an injury. Brake procedures and electrical wiring diagrams apply.
