Known issues on the 2022 Telluride. Five recalls are on federal record for this model year. The first covers the instrument cluster: the LCD display screen may remain blank after startup, and a blank display may be missing information such as the speedometer. The second covers the driveline, where the intermediate shaft and right front driveshaft may not be fully engaged, which can result in vehicle roll away and an increased risk of a crash or injury. The third covers the temporary spare tire, as the vehicle may be equipped with an incorrect spare tire which, when installed, can impair the anti-lock braking system; impaired anti-lock braking or traction control systems can increase the risk of a crash. The fourth covers the trailer hitch on vehicles potentially equipped with a Genuine Kia 4-pin tow hitch harness installed as original equipment or purchased as an accessory, where a fire while parked or driving can increase the risk of injury. The fifth covers the front power seat, whose motor may overheat due to a stuck power seat slide knob, which can result in a fire and an increased risk of injury. Owners have filed 389 complaints for the year and Kia has issued 88 technical service bulletins. The factory diagnostic and repair procedures for each of those systems are here.
From a cluster display that stays dark to a driveshaft that may not be fully engaged, the tow hitch harness or a front power seat motor that overheats, it keeps you on Kia's own procedure and the correct specification for this 2022 Telluride.
