2022 BMW X4 Service and Repair Manual

This factory service and repair manual for the 2022 BMW X4 adds a third engine to the range: alongside the turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four of 122 cubic inches and the turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six sits a mild hybrid version of that six, also turbocharged, also double overhead cam and also gasoline. Four trims, xDrive30i, M40i, M and M Competition, share one four-door sport utility body, and the engine sections have to be read against the right one of the three before any specification is used.

Known issues on the 2022 X4. Six recalls are recorded for this year. The most serious mechanically is a transmission fault: a mechatronics unit assembled incorrectly can leak internally, and that leak can leave the vehicle free to roll away. Two others cover a starter that can overheat and burn as an internal part wears, and a fourth a starter relay that corrodes and shorts. The remaining two are compliance faults, a rear license plate lamp that does not light the plate correctly and a tire label carrying the wrong size and pressure figures. Three complaints are recorded, two on the service brakes.
