The first covers the gateway control module: a liquid spill in the rear seat, or water ingress through an insufficient body seam underneath the vehicle, can penetrate the module and cause it to shut down, suddenly reducing engine power and increasing the risk of a crash. The second covers the tailgate structure: the metal sheets forming the rear lid may have been improperly connected, which can decrease the vehicle's structural protection in a crash and increase the risk of injury.
