Known issues on the 2019 SQ5. Five recalls are on federal record for this model year. A gateway control module can shut down after a liquid spill or water ingress reaches it, suddenly reducing engine power. Wheel arch cover trim can loosen and detach, creating a road hazard. The instrument panel carrier can break from incorrect welding, leaving the passenger frontal air bag without adequate protection in a crash. Rear wheel arch cover trim can also loosen and detach from the vehicle. And a short brake master cylinder casting can cause a sudden loss of brakes, though the electronic parking brake and its emergency brake function still work.
