Known issues on the 2021 S7 Sportback. Ten recalls are on federal record for this model year. The rear seat belt automatic locking retractors may deactivate early, preventing a child restraint system from securing properly. Rear axle alignment may not have been inspected following repairs from an earlier recall, leading to premature or uneven tire wear. A passenger air bag score line manufactured incorrectly may not deploy properly and can eject plastic debris into the cabin. A broken trailing arm lock nut from stress corrosion can misalign the rear axle and cause loss of control. A sticking fuel level sender can display an inaccurate fuel reading and cause the engine to stall. A software issue can blank the rearview camera display when reverse is engaged. Liquid spilled in the rear seat can penetrate and shut down the gateway control module, suddenly reducing engine power. An incorrectly labeled brake fluid cap may allow the wrong type of brake fluid to be used, reducing braking ability. A separate software error in the instrument panel display can prevent it from showing critical safety information such as the speedometer or warning lights. A further software error may prevent the rearview camera image from displaying as intended. Owners have filed 3 complaints for the year, and no technical service bulletins are logged.
