Known issues on the 2021 Q8. Seven recalls are on federal record for this model year. Rear seat belt automatic locking retractors can deactivate early, preventing a child restraint system from securing properly. A rear axle alignment that was never inspected after an earlier recall repair can leave the axle misaligned, causing premature or uneven tire wear. A broken lock nut on the rear trailing arm can misalign the rear axle, risking loss of control. A component inside the fuel pump can break and cause the pump to fail, leading to an engine stall. A software issue can leave the rearview camera display blank when the vehicle is placed in reverse, cutting the driver's rear visibility. A software error in the instrument panel display can cause it to fail, hiding critical safety information like the speedometer and warning lights.
