Known issues on the 2019 5500. Seven recalls affect the 2019 5500, several centered on the diesel. Certain 2019 Ram 5500 trucks with the 6.7L turbo diesel could lose the high-pressure fuel pump and stall abruptly; dealers replaced it and reprogrammed the powertrain module. Certain trucks with the High Output 6.7L ran calibration software that might not flag low oil volume, risking engine damage, an oil leak and fire. On certain trucks the wiper arms could loosen and hurt visibility in poor weather. Owners filed 12 complaints, 3 on the diesel fuel system and 3 on the fuel and propulsion system; 1 reported a fire and 1 an injury. Fuel and engine diagnostics and specifications are included.
