2019 Acura TLX 28k miles - was slowing pulling into a parking spot in a parking garage downtown San Diego. Suddenly the car had no brakes while pressing the brake pedal to the floor with no resistance from the brakes, the car start revving hard and accelerating very fast. I stopped by hitting a brick barrier. Steering wheel and knee airbags deployed. Fortunately I arrived at work early that day and did not hit anyone or any other cars. Our Insurance company USAA said they can not repair the car.

I WAS DRIVING ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET APPROX. 10 MPH AND TURNED INTO A DRIVEWAY. THERE WAS ANOTHER VEHICLE PARKED AHEAD. I STOPPED HARD ON MY BRAKES BUT MY CAR DIDN'T STOP AND HIT THE PARKED CAR. AS IT HAPPENED SO QUICKLY, I MUST HAVE TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL, CONTINUED TO PRESS ON THE BRAKES BUT ENDED UP ALSO HITTING A BUILDING.

THE CAR DID NOT BRAKE WHEN APPROACHING A STOPLIGHT. CRASHED INTO THE LAST CAR IN LINE. INVESTIGATION SHOWED I STARTED BRAKING AT 35 MPH FOR 7+ SECONDS, BEFORE THE CRASH. TWO LINES IN BOTH DIRECTIONS, THE SPEED LIMIT WAS 40 MPH.

My vehicle had an engine rod bearing issue before the 1st recall, they replaced part of the engine. My vehicle also went through a starter recall and they also changed the rod bearing with the corrected part that was in for the last recall. Currently, my engine is still having the exact same rod bearing issue which is a safety concern for me. It’s currently at Ed Voyles Acura in Chamblee, GA waiting on a decision from corporate Acura. I WAS ENTERING A LEFT-HAND TURN LANE, WITH A RED LIGHT. THE THIRD-PARTY INVESTIGATION SHOWED I ENTERED THE LANE AT 35MP. I STARTED GENTLE BREAKING AND WHEN THERE WAS NO RESPONSE, I PUSHED THE BRAKE HARD AND TO THE FLOOR. I DID NOT FEEL THE CAR DECELERATE BUT THE INVESTIGATION SHOWS THAT BRAKED FOR 7 SECONDS PLUS AND HIT THE LAST CAR IN LINE AT ABOUT 20MPH. THE INVESTIGATOR WAS UNABLE TO RECREATE THE CIRCUMSTANCES.

There are two outstanding recalls on my vehicle, and I have been unable to get scheduled for these repairs with Motorcars Acura in Bedford, Ohio. I have been told for almost a year, that I was on a waiting list, and that I should continue to call them for availability. I would like to know what type of resolution there will be going forward, if the dealer is unable to perform these repairs in a timely manner. I am starting to feel concern with driving my vehicle safely.

I recently changed the car battery and now notice that occasionally my car rattles a little then automatically shifts to neutral while at a red light, drive thru etc. Additionally, occasionally when parked with engine still running, my rattles a little and car shuts off. When this happens it displays the battery and oil light. I start it back up with no problem. I’ve taken it to the dealership and I’m told nothing is wrong with the car. This makes me feel unsafe while driving.

MY hood floats and rattles at freeway speeds. It is concerning in that other Honda vehicles also exhibit the same symptom and are now being recalled for hoods opening unexpectedly due to structure issues.

Drivers seat trim has broken 3 times, and is now causing the seat to come apart from the entire trim around the seat.

It was a recall on my car trying to be proactive about the situation.
