Known issues on the 2018 Macan. Five recalls are on federal record for this model year. The first covers the electrical system, where a control unit failure can knock out driver display alerts and post-crash functions and raise the risk of a crash. The second covers the front passenger occupant classification sensor, whose mat can degrade and fail to detect a passenger, so the air bag will not deploy in a crash. The third covers the optional ski bag, which may have been sewn with the wrong thread and can detach in a crash. The fourth covers the fuel pump, where the service cover can contact the filter flange nozzle, crack, and leak fuel near an ignition source. The fifth covers the rear seat belt anchorage, where an improperly tightened anchor screw can let the belt detach in a crash. Owners have filed 34 complaints for the year.
