Known issues on the 2018 GLE63 AMG. Start with the brakes: on certain vehicles the rear caliper pistons may have been improperly coated, releasing gas into the rear brake hydraulics and weakening braking until dealers bled the rear system. That is one of four recalls for this model year. Another affected certain vehicles in which water pooling in the spare wheel well could ruin the fuel pump control unit and stall the engine. One complaint names this exact vehicle, about the service brakes, and one filed against the 2018 GLE-Class line concerns the power train. Brake hydraulics, fuel system and driveline procedures, specifications, torque values, wiring diagrams and diagnostics are all covered.
