2018 GMC Terrain Service and Repair Manual

This factory service and repair manual for the 2018 GMC Terrain opens a redesigned generation in which every engine is a turbocharged four: a 1.5L gasoline unit of 91 cubic inches, a 1.6L diesel of 98, and a 2.0L gasoline of 122, all twin-cam. Five trims — Base, Denali, SL, SLE and SLT — share the four-door sport utility body. Boost hardware, charge air routing and, on the diesel, an entirely different fuel system mean the engine chapters diverge sharply, and the published specifications, torque values and diagnostic routines follow each build separately.

Known issues on the 2018 Terrain. Five recalls are on the federal record. The crash sensing and diagnostic module may fail to power down at shutdown and then stay dead on restart, so it cannot command air bag deployment; rear brake caliper pistons with insufficient coating can form gas pockets that weaken rear braking; and the high pressure fuel pump can detach from its mounting flange and damage the high pressure line, leaking fuel. Two more concern missing bolts on the start-stop accumulator endcap and a right front intermediate driveshaft that can fracture. Owners logged 219 complaints, led by service brakes, then the power train and electrical system.
