Known issues on the 2012 Terrain. Four recalls sit on the federal record for this year. The park lock lever can let the ignition key come out with the transmission not in Park, risking a rollaway; the power seat height adjuster bolt can back out and let the seat drop; the tire pressure monitoring system can fail to light its warning lamp when pressure falls, so an underinflated tire overheats unnoticed; and the headlight housings glare. Among 370 owner complaints, the engine leads by a wide margin, followed by visibility and wipers and then the power train.
