Known issues on the 2017 GLS450. Eight recalls and 35 owner complaints are recorded for the 2017 GLS450. Four of the recalls involve the emergency call system on certain vehicles, through software faults that could report a wrong location or time, a SIM card error that could cut the network connection, or a module switched off during service. On certain vehicles with Active Curve System, oil running below the minimum level could foam out of the reservoir cap vents, a fire risk if it meets an ignition source. Complaints most often cite the electrical system and the engine, eight each, followed by exterior lighting; six complaints reported a fire, one a crash and one an injury.
