Known issues on the 2017 MKX. The federal record shows 5 recalls for the 2017 MKX. A flaw in the driver's frontal air bag on certain 2017 MKX vehicles could keep the cushion from filling completely or let it separate from its module in a crash, and dealers replaced the module. Rear brake jounce hoses on certain vehicles could burst and lose fluid, lengthening stops. On certain vehicles equipped with the 3.7L engine, contact between the battery cable harness and a shifter bracket could short the circuit and start a fire.
