Known issues on the 2016 MKX. There are 7 recalls for the 2016 MKX. On certain vehicles the front brake hoses could rupture early and leak fluid, lengthening stops. Certain 2016 MKX vehicles equipped with the 3.7L engine could see the battery positive cable rub against the shifter cable bracket and short, creating a fire risk. On certain vehicles whose seats have the 16-way electric tilt function, the cushion frame could chafe a wiring harness until an air bag deployed unexpectedly or failed to. Complaints total 155, led by service brakes (39), engine (32) and the electrical system (27); 6 complaints reported a crash, 3 a fire and 3 an injury.
