2017 Kia Forte5 Service and Repair Manual
Rather than covering the Forte family in general, this factory service and repair manual is matched to the 2017 Kia Forte5 by year, engine and trim, so the specifications and sequences it gives are the ones Kia published for this exact hatchback and not figures carried over from a neighboring model year.

- 2.0L inline-four (122 cu in) — DOHC, naturally aspirated, gasoline

Known issues on the 2017 Forte5. Three recalls are on federal record for this model year. The first covers the air bags: the air bag control unit cover may contact a memory chip, and air bags that do not deploy as intended can increase the risk of injury in a crash. The second, on cars equipped with the 2.0L Nu MPI engine, covers the oil pump: foreign particles may stick inside the oil pump and may cause an oil pump failure, and a damaged engine may stall, increasing the risk of a crash. The third covers the trunk lid latch, which may become damaged and prevent the trunk from opening, so a person inside the trunk compartment may become trapped, increasing their risk of injury. Owners have filed 427 complaints for the year, while no technical service bulletins are logged.
On the air bag control unit, the oil pump on the 2.0L or the trunk lid latch, the procedures and specifications are Kia’s own for the 2017 Forte5, so the work follows the standard the factory set rather than a generic sequence.
