Known issues on the 2017 Transit-350 HD. There are eight recalls on federal record for this year. Vans rebuilt with an electric hybrid system can lose a front driveshaft when the cardan joint fails. Wheelchair lifts fitted to passenger vans were recalled because the positioning input cam can give way mid-cycle, stopping the platform above the floor. Corroded trailer tow module wiring is a third subject, with the risk running from flashing turn signals to a short. Owners have filed 98 complaints with NHTSA, most of them on the power train and the rest thinning out across the electrical system and the structure, so driveline and wiring diagnostics get the heaviest use.
