Known issues on the 2015 SL550. The 2015 SL550 appears in two recalls. The more serious involves the electric power steering: on certain cars produced within a defined period, contacts inside the steering control unit may have been soldered badly, so assist could cut out on the road and the added resistance could start a fire even with the car parked and switched off; dealers replace the control unit. The other corrects a software fault in certain cars that could give the eCall system an incorrect date and time, and so a wrong location. Both owner complaints concern the engine.
