Known issues on the 2013 A5. Three recalls are on federal record for this model year. The first covers the auxiliary heater wiring: contact corrosion within the electrical connector can cause the heater wires to overheat or melt, increasing the risk of a fire. The second and third both cover the electric coolant pump on the 2.0L Turbo FSI engine: debris in the cooling system can block the pump and cause it to overheat, and in a related recall the pump can also short-circuit from moisture within it, with either fault increasing the risk of a fire. Owners have filed 38 complaints for the year, and no technical service bulletins are logged.
