Known issues on the 2011 Forte. Two recalls are on federal record for this model year. The first, part of a campaign spanning many Kia models including the 2010-2013 Forte, concerns the hydraulic service brakes — the antilock and traction control system — where an engine compartment fire can occur while the car is parked or being driven, increasing the risk of injury. The second is narrower, covering 2011 Fortes built between August 27 and November 11, 2010: it addresses the automatic transmission's fluid cooler hose, because if enough transmission fluid leaks out, the transmission may not function properly.
