Known issues on the 2009 Lancer. NHTSA's record shows 9 recalls for the 2009 Lancer. Certain 2009 Lancer vehicles built within a stated window were recalled because a manufacturing error could make voltage unstable inside the control unit for the headlights, tail lights and wipers, so they could fail intermittently; the unit is replaced. Certain vehicles from another production window were recalled for a blower motor that could fail and weaken the defroster. Power train leads the 121 complaints with 31, then engine (24) and electrical system (19). Eleven complaints cite a crash, three cite a fire and eight cite an injury.
