Known issues on the 2009 X6. Ten recalls are recorded for this year. A run of them concerns frontal air bag inflators that can rupture when the propellant has broken down, sending fragments at the occupants. One is specific to this model year: rear brake discs built outside specification, which lose braking effort at that wheel and can break outright. Another covers an in-tank fuel pump whose loose connector can melt and leak or shut the pump down mid-drive.
