Known issues on the 2008 C63 AMG. Three recalls name the 2008 C63 AMG. A manufacturing flaw could let the air bag control unit corrode on certain cars, so air bags might fire unexpectedly or fail to deploy in a crash. Certain cars built between January 2007 and July 2011 could see tail lights dim or fail through a poor ground connection. Separately, NHTSA filed two recalls against the 2008 C-Class line, one covering certain vehicles whose rear outboard lap belts might not lock as the standard requires for older non-latch child seats. Electrical and exterior lighting lead the 5 complaints with 2 each; separately, 13 complaints were filed against the 2008 C-Class line. Lighting, restraint and wiring diagnostics are covered.
