2006 Lexus LX 470 Service and Repair Manual

Built around the 2006 Lexus LX 470 exactly as it left the assembly line, this service and repair manual is tied to the single model year, the 4.7L V8 (2UZ-FE) and the trim listed below, so the clearances, torque values and diagnostic trees you follow are the ones written for this truck rather than figures carried over from an adjacent year.

Known issues on the 2006 LX 470. Three recalls are on federal record for this model year, two of them in the restraint system. The first covers the frontal passenger-side air bag inflator module: the vehicle may be equipped with an incorrect driver or front passenger air bag, which may not deploy as intended in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury. The second covers the side curtain-shield air bags, where the air bag control module may be improperly programmed, causing them to deploy inadvertently, which can increase the risk of occupant injury. The third covers the steering gear box pitman shaft: the snap ring on the steering shaft may disengage when the vehicle experiences an unusually severe impact to the front wheels, and if the steering wheel is then repeatedly turned to the locked position, over time the shaft may become disconnected, which could result in loss of steering control and increase the risk of a crash. Owners have filed 15 complaints for the year. The diagnostic and repair procedures behind each of those systems are here.

From air bag control module and side curtain-shield air bag work to steering shaft and snap ring inspection or a scheduled service interval, it keeps you on the OEM procedure and the correct specification for your specific 2006 LX 470.
