2005 Land Rover Freelander Service and Repair Manual
Fitment is what this manual is built around: it is tied to the 2005 Land Rover Freelander, to the 2.5L V6 it was sold with and to the trims offered that year, so the figures in it are the ones Land Rover specified for this vehicle rather than ones carried across from another year of the model.

Known issues on the 2005 Freelander. Three recalls are on federal record for this model year. The first concerns the brake light switch: on certain sport utility vehicles the brake lights may remain illuminated even when the brake pedal is not depressed, and the hill descent control, traction control and cruise control warning lights may also be illuminated, with failure to provide the proper signal when braking able to lead to a crash without warning. The second covers the door latches, where on certain five-door sport utility vehicles it is possible to operate the interior door handle to open the door when the child safety lever is in the "ON" position, so the occupant may open the door inadvertently while the vehicle is in motion and fall out into the traffic. The third is an air bag recall: the deflector panel contained in the passenger side air bag module may not have been built to specification, and damage to the air bag may occur that could allow the release of a fragment of the deflector panel into the passenger compartment, injuring the seat occupant. Owners have logged 16 complaints for the year. The factory diagnostic and repair procedures behind each of those systems are here.
Whether you are chasing a brake lamp switch fault, sorting out a door latch and its child lock, or working around the passenger air bag module, it holds you to the Land Rover procedure and the right figure for this 2005 Freelander.
