2005 GMC C4500 Topkick Service and Repair Manual

Two engines serve all of them, the turbocharged 6.6L diesel V8 and the naturally aspirated 8.1L gasoline V8. Known issues on the 2005 C4500 Topkick. Two recalls touch this model year and both concern equipment added after the truck was built. One involves an aftermarket wheelchair-lift interlock whose protective diode can be destroyed by a voltage spike, leaving the truck able to be driven with the lift still deployed. The other covers an aftermarket rear air suspension whose axle-side lateral control bracket has cracked, which upsets handling and can cost the driver control. Two owner complaints are logged, one on exterior lighting and one on steering; both systems are documented here with wiring diagrams, procedures and torque values.
