Known issues on the 2005 Rendezvous. One recall is on the federal record for the 2005 Rendezvous. It concerns certain 2005 Rendezvous vehicles built with cloth seats and an automatic passenger sensing system that were later refitted with aftermarket leather seat covers. Those covers could confuse the sensing system, switching the front passenger air bag off when it was needed or on when it should not be, and with no compatible cover available the vehicles were repurchased. Owners logged 138 complaints, led by the electrical system (38), with engine and steering at 18 apiece; 10 complaints reported a crash, 6 an injury and 1 a fire.
