Known issues on the 2003 Rendezvous. The federal record lists 6 recalls for the 2003 Rendezvous. On certain 2003 Rendezvous vehicles the steering column intermediate shaft was undersized and could spin in its coupling, taking away steering control without warning; 4,512 vehicles were covered. A possibly weak support at the rear liftgate latch on certain vehicles could let the liftgate open in a severe crash. On certain others, 130 in total, the driver's air bag might not deploy properly and its inflator could burst. Owners submitted 281 complaints, led by engine and engine cooling (53) and the electrical system (45); 13 complaints reported a fire, 12 a crash and 11 an injury.
