Known issues on the 2003 CLK55 AMG. The federal record lists three recalls for the 2003 CLK55 AMG, and all three concern the glass sunroof. In two, the panel on certain vehicles might not have been fastened securely and could come loose; in the third, on certain others, the glue holding the glass to its sliding frame could weaken until the panel separated. A detached panel is a hazard to traffic behind. NHTSA also filed one recall against the wider 2003 CLK-Class line, for certain vehicles given incorrect software coding during a workshop visit that could keep the fuel pump from shutting off after a crash. That line also logged 12 complaints, led by exterior lighting. Body, fuel system and wiring coverage here applies.
