This factory service and repair manual for the 2003 Mercedes-Benz CL55 AMG covers a supercharged coupe. The engine listed for this year is a 5.4L V8, quoted at 332 cubic inches, with SOHC valve gear and gasoline fuel. The only body is a two-door coupe, and a single Base trim is listed. With forced induction on that engine, the manual gives procedures, specifications and torque values for the engine, plus wiring diagrams and diagnostics for the coupe's electrical systems.

Known issues on the 2003 CL55 AMG. NHTSA filed three recalls against wider groups: two against the 2003 CL-Class line and one against the 2003 C215-chassis models. On certain 2003 CL-Class line vehicles, humidity could corrode the steel inner layers of the Active Body Control pressure hose, letting fluid leak onto hot parts near the catalytic converter and risking fire. The line's other recall covered certain vehicles whose trunk lid springs could fail, so a raised lid might not stay up and could fall on someone. For certain 2003 C215-chassis models equipped with ABC sensors on the front struts, faulty solder joints could leave one strut adjusting while the other did not. Owners have filed four complaints on the 2003 CL55 AMG, including one each on suspension, engine and electrical system; the 2003 CL-Class line has four of its own. Procedures, torque values and wiring diagrams for the suspension and body systems are covered.
