Known issues on the 2003 GX 470. Two recalls are on federal record for this model year. The first covers equipment labeling: the certification label does not meet the information requirements described in the regulations, with the gross vehicle weight rating printed as 6,100 lbs when the correct GVWR is 6,000 lbs. The second covers the middle and rear seat assembly on certain vehicles equipped with the Lexus Link system, where it may be difficult to lock one of the two latches on the bottom of the middle-row left rear seat: the thickness of the Lexus Link storage case slightly elevates the stopper on the bottom of the seat, and that elevated position misaligns the latch to the striker. If the vehicle is operated with only one latch locked, the occupant of the seat may be improperly restrained in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of personal injury.
