Known issues on the 2002 Aurora. Two recalls sit on the federal record for the 2002 Aurora. On certain 2002 Aurora vehicles equipped with the 4.0L V8, a fuel tank pressure sensor prone to failure could let the self-test pull too much vacuum, damaging fuel system parts so fuel might escape during refueling and create a fire risk; dealers fitted a new sensor. Certain 2002 Aurora vehicles were also recalled because the driver air bag inflator could crack at a weld when it fired, throwing fragments and leaving the cushion underinflated.
