Known issues on the 1996 Aurora. The 1996 Aurora has 2 recalls on the federal record. Certain 1996 Aurora vehicles with the 4.0L V8 were recalled because the nylon tubing in the fuel rail could break down and crack, letting fuel escape into the engine bay where it could ignite. Dealers checked the rail, fitted a stainless steel replacement if it was needed and added a revised return line. Certain 1996 Aurora vehicles also had a lighting and locking module whose capacitor, if damaged, could disable the key and seat belt reminder chimes.
