2002 GMC Sierra 2500 Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 2002 GMC Sierra 2500 documents a truck whose one V8 could be plumbed for three kinds of fuel: the 6.0L overhead-valve unit of 364 cubic inches, naturally aspirated, running gasoline or built as a bi-fuel gasoline and LPG or CNG truck. The body sheet lists a 2-door standard cab pickup and a 4-door extended cab pickup, and four trims appear, Base, SL, SLE and SLT. Procedures, specifications, torque values, wiring diagrams and diagnostics have to serve each fuel arrangement as well as the shared chassis.

Known issues on the 2002 Sierra 2500. The federal record holds seven recalls for this year. The one closest to the fuel story concerns natural gas trucks whose throttle cable could rub through a pressurized fuel line and open a pinhole leak. Others describe parking brake linings wearing until the brake will not hold, and tailgate support cables corroding until they fracture and let the tailgate fall. Owners have filed 595 complaints, 325 on the service brakes and the rest thinning out through engine and cooling and steering. Fuel routing, parking brake and brake hydraulic procedures are the sections that answer those.
