This factory service and repair manual for the 1999 GMC Sierra 2500 works across two overhead-valve gasoline V8s, a 6.0L of 364 cubic inches and a 5.3L of 325, both naturally aspirated. The truck was bodied three ways that year, as a 3-door extended cab pickup, a 2-door cab and chassis for body builders, and a 2-door standard cab pickup, and it was trimmed as SL, SLE or SLT. Known issues on the 1999 Sierra 2500. Two recalls sit on the federal record, and both reached the truck through the parts counter rather than the assembly line: a batch of replacement oil filters that could seal poorly and lose engine oil, and a batch of replacement fuel filters whose connection could seal poorly and leak fuel, each flagged as a fire risk. Owner complaints number 36, with 20 of them on the service brakes and smaller clusters on tires and suspension. Brake hydraulics, filter service and fuel line routing are all documented here, with the specifications and torque values that go with them.
