2002 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 HD Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 HD is a single-engine book. The 6.0-liter V8 of 364 cubic inches, overhead-valve, naturally aspirated and running on gasoline, is the only powerplant covered, and the four-door crew cab pickup the only body, sold as LS and LT. That leaves room for depth instead of breadth: engine mechanical, fuel, ignition, cooling and emissions procedures, then transmission and driveline, brakes, steering and suspension, and finally the body and its circuits.

Known issues on the 2002 Silverado 1500 HD. The federal safety record holds eight recall campaigns against this truck. Seven of them concern replacement lamp assemblies — some sold without the amber side reflectors that make a truck visible from the side, one with a beam pattern bright enough in the wrong places to distract other drivers. The eighth covers a seven-way trailer adaptor wired incorrectly, so a trailer's lamps may not follow the driver's signals or brake pedal. Complaints number 1,656, with 859 on the service brakes, 112 on the engine and cooling and 96 on the power train.
