Known issues on the 2002 Silverado 1500 HD. The federal safety record holds eight recall campaigns against this truck. Seven of them concern replacement lamp assemblies — some sold without the amber side reflectors that make a truck visible from the side, one with a beam pattern bright enough in the wrong places to distract other drivers. The eighth covers a seven-way trailer adaptor wired incorrectly, so a trailer's lamps may not follow the driver's signals or brake pedal.
