This factory service and repair manual for the 2001 Chevrolet B7 covers two engines, the turbocharged 7.2L OHV inline-six diesel of 441 cubic inches and the naturally aspirated 8.1L OHV V8 of 496 cubic inches, in the cab forward school bus designated B7T042. Large displacement in both cases, but with nothing shared beyond the chassis, so the book separates their specifications, torque values and diagnostic procedures and then covers the bus once, through its frame, driveline, brakes, steering and electrical systems.

Known issues on the 2001 B7. There is no recall against this bus and no owner complaint at NHTSA for the year. The manual's usefulness lies in detail rather than in remedy. Both engines are documented with their own procedures, clearances, torque values and diagnostic charts; the chassis sections cover suspension, driveline, brake and steering service; and the wiring diagrams show the bus's circuits as installed, which is what an intermittent electrical fault on a vehicle this size ultimately comes down to.
