This factory service and repair manual for the 1993 Chevrolet B7 sets out two engines for one bus: a naturally aspirated 6.0L OHV gasoline V8 of 366 cubic inches and a turbocharged 6.6L OHV inline-six diesel of 403 cubic inches, both in the cab forward school bus designated B7T042. The difference between spark ignition and compression ignition runs deep in service terms, and the manual reflects it, giving each engine its own fuel, starting and diagnostic material before the shared chassis work begins.

Known issues on the 1993 B7. Nothing stands against this bus on the federal record, neither a recall nor an owner complaint. Its manual is therefore a working reference, and a broad one. The gasoline V8 and the turbocharged diesel six each come with procedures, specifications, torque values, wiring diagrams and diagnostics; the cab forward chassis is covered through the frame, suspension, driveline, brakes and steering; and the electrical sections map the circuits that feed the cab, the instruments and the exterior lamps.
A MANUFACTURING CONDITION IN THE THROTTLE BODY INJECTOR (TBI) UNIT MIGHT OCCUR TO ALLOW THE THROTTLE CAM LEVER TO DISENGAGE FROM THE THROTTLE DRIVE SHAFT.
IF THE THROTTLE CAM LEVER DISENGAGES FROM THE THROTTLEDRIVE SHAFT, THE ENGINE COULD GO TO
REPLACE THE THROTTLE DRIVE COVER ASSEMBLY.
THE INTERMEDIATE STEERING SHAFT WAS ASSEMBLED WITH LOOSE OR MISSING UPPER AND LOWER PINCH BOLTS WHICH MAY CAUSE SEPARATION OF THE SHAFT.
SEPARATION OF THE INTERMEDIATE STEERING SHAFT RESULTS IN TOTAL LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL AN
DEALERS WILL PROPERLY TORQUE LOOSE PINCH BOLTS AND INSTALL PINCH BOLTS WHERE NECESSARY.
