Known issues on the 1997 Breeze. Four recalls stand against the 1997 Breeze. Certain 1997 Breeze vehicles with automatic transmissions could have a misadjusted shifter-to-key cable that let the shifter's connecting pin snap, disabling the interlock between the ignition and park. On certain vehicles the secondary hood latch spring could pop loose when the hood was slammed, leaving a hood that missed its primary latch unrestrained. A ball joint that can run dry and separate on certain others is the third. Of 155 complaints, 83 name the engine and engine cooling and 17 the hydraulic brakes; 9 reported a crash, 8 a fire and 8 at least one injury.
