1997 Geo Metro Service and Repair Manual

Geo's final year of the Metro was 1997, before the car moved to the Chevrolet brand. The lineup narrowed as the base four-door sedan was dropped, leaving a Base two-door hatchback with the 1.0L SOHC three-cylinder and LSi hatchback and sedan models on which the 1.3L SOHC four-cylinder was now standard. Known issues on the 1997 Metro. One recall is on federal record: a transaxle recall (98V225001) on automatic cars whose shift lever could be moved out of Park without the key, detent button or brake pedal. NHTSA also logs 72 owner complaints, most often about the engine and cooling system and the powertrain.
