Known issues on the 1996 Vision. Steering tops the complaints for the 1996 Vision at 16 of 46, with fuel system at 5 and air bags, hydraulic service brakes and suspension at 4 each. Five complaints reported a crash, 2 an injury and 2 a fire. The model year has 2 recalls. Certain 1996 Vision cars with the single-overhead-camshaft engine could leak fuel from rail seals or from fine cracks in the fuel rail, a fire hazard near an ignition source; seals were replaced and the rail reinforced or, where it leaked, replaced. Certain vehicles with a floor shifter were also recalled because the ignition-park interlock could fail, letting the lever leave park with the key out or releasing the key when the car was not in park, so it could roll away.
