This factory service and repair manual for the 1995 BMW 750iL documents a naturally aspirated 5.4L SOHC V12 on gasoline in a four-door sedan, Base trim. Displacement is the first thing to confirm before any figure in it is used, because the engine sections are written to this V12 and no other. Twelve cylinders in two banks make most engine jobs a matter of performing the same operation twice to the same specification, and the manual sets out that order along with the torque values, clearances and diagnostics involved.

Known issues on the 1995 750iL. Four recalls stand on the federal record. A replacement steering center drag link can shear at the shaft, taking away control of the car without warning. Road grit trapped in the lower front spring mounts pits the rubber until cracks form and a bottom coil of the spring breaks, changing ride height and unsettling stability. A casting flaw in the right rear lower suspension arm mounting eye can crack through while the car is driven. Three complaints are logged, on suspension, steering and air bags, all systems covered here.
